Medilab Diagnostic Centre organized a free medical camp for patients with diabetes, hypertension and other illnesses in Gopalganj.
Marking World Diabetes Day, the day-long camp was held on Saturday at Majhigati Dashpalli Nesar Uddin Khan High School in Gopalganj Sadar upazila. Around 300 patients received free treatment and medical advice.
Following free diabetes tests, patients diagnosed with diabetes, hypertension and other conditions were provided treatment and consultations by Dr Md Habibur Rahman, a specialist in medicine, diabetes, hormones and cardiology. Medicines were later distributed free of cost as per prescriptions.
Medilab Diagnostic Centre owner Dr Md Habibur Rahman said the camp was arranged to raise awareness about diabetes and hypertension among marginalized communities. Alongside free tests, treatment and advice, patients were counselled on disease management. He added that proper awareness can help a large section of the population lead a healthy life, reduce treatment costs and minimize complications related to these conditions.
