Gold prices in the country have fallen once more.
In the latest adjustment, the price of 22-carat gold has been reduced by Tk1,038 per bhori. Starting Monday, gold will be sold nationwide at Tk207,957 per bhori.
The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) announced the new rates in a press release issued on Sunday night, stating that the price adjustment was made due to a decline in the price of pure gold in the local market.
According to the new Bajus price list:
- The price of 21-carat gold has been set at Tk198,498 per bhori
- 18-carat gold at Tk170,143 per bhori
- Traditional gold at Tk141,496 per bhori
Meanwhile, the price of silver remains unchanged. Currently, silver prices per bhori are as follows:
- 22-carat silver: Tk4,654
- 21-carat silver: Tk4,444
- 18-carat silver: Tk3,802
- Traditional silver: Tk2,858
Bajus noted that recent fluctuations in global gold prices have influenced the domestic market as well.
The association said the adjustment aims to maintain balance between consumer interests and market realities.
