The government has appointed new Deputy Commissioners (DCs) in 14 more districts.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification to this effect on Sunday evening.

The new postings include Brahmanbaria, Jhenaidah, Narail, Jamalpur, Meherpur, Kishoreganj, Jhalokathi, Gopalganj, Chuadanga, Panchagarh, Joypurhat, Mymensingh, Manikganj, and Chandpur.

Among these, two DCs were transferred from their current districts, while the rest are new appointees. Sharmin Akter Jahan, the DC of Narail, has been transferred to Brahmanbaria, while Mohammad Abdul Salam, the DC of Meherpur, has been moved to Narail.

Md Abdullah Al Masud, director of the Department of Environment, has been posted as DC of Jhenaidah, and Md Yusup Ali, zonal settlement officer of the Land Records and Survey Department in Khulna, has been appointed DC of Jamalpur.

Lutfun Nahar, deputy secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, will take charge as DC of Meherpur, while Mohammad Aslam Molla, chief revenue officer of Dhaka South City Corporation, has been posted as DC of Kishoreganj.

Md Momin Uddin, director of the Directorate of Nursing and Midwifery, will serve as DC of Jhalokathi, and Md Arif-uz-Zaman, deputy secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been assigned to Gopalganj.

Mohammad Kamal Hossain, deputy secretary of the Economic Relations Division, will be the new DC of Chuadanga, while Kazi Md Saiemuzzaman, deputy secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, has been posted to Panchagarh.

Md Al-Mamun Mia, director (deputy secretary) of the Chief Adviser’s Office, has been appointed DC of Joypurhat, and Md Saifur Rahman, deputy secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, will serve in Mymensingh.

Najmun Ara Sultana, deputy sirector of Local Government at the DC Office in Khagrachhari, has been posted as DC of Manikganj, and Md Nazmul Islam, director (deputy secretary) of the Chief Adviser’s Office, will take charge in Chandpur.

In addition, joint secretaries and deputy secretaries who were serving as DCs in 12 other districts have been reassigned to various ministries, divisions, and offices.

Earlier, on Saturday, new deputy commissioners were appointed in 15 other districts.
