The government has appointed new Deputy Commissioners (DCs) in nine districts as part of its ongoing administrative reshuffle. A notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Thursday, November 13, confirmed the appointments.

Zahidul Islam Miya, previously serving as DC of Narayanganj, has been transferred to Chittagong. SM Mehedi Hasan, Director at the Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre (BPATC), has been posted to Laxmipur. Syeda Nurmahal Ashrafi, Deputy Secretary at the Planning Department, will serve as DC of Munshiganj, while Md Saifur Rahman from the Shipping Ministry has been appointed to Netrokona. Md Shahadat Hossain Masud, Deputy Secretary at the Finance Department, has been posted to Chapainawabganj.

Mohammad Saiful Islam, Director at the Office of the Chief Adviser, has been appointed DC of Naogaon. Md Anwar Sadat, Deputy Secretary at the Shipping Ministry, will serve in Khagrachhari. Md Reza Hasan, Chief Executive Officer of Rajshahi Zilla Parishad, has been named DC and District Magistrate of Comilla. Meanwhile, Md Raihan Kabir, Deputy Secretary at the Public Works Department, has been posted as DC and District Magistrate of Narayanganj.

This latest round of appointments follows an earlier reshuffle on Sunday, November 9, when new DCs were appointed in 14 districts. The changes come amid preparations for the upcoming national elections and efforts to strengthen field-level administration.
