The first namaz-e-janaza of Inquilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi was scheduled to be held in Singapore, but it couldn’t be held due to the absence of permission from the Singapore government, according to the Bangladesh High Commission in Singapore.
The High Commission shared the information in a message on Friday.
Hadi’s first janaza was scheduled to be held at Angullia Mosque in Singapore at 10am. It has also been learned that his body is being brought from there.
The High Commission said: “Osman Hadi passed away last night at Singapore General Hospital. As clearance from the appropriate authorities was not obtained, his janaza will not be held in Singapore. The High Commission regrets this situation. We request Bangladeshi expatriates in Singapore to respect the laws of Singapore. We pray for the departed soul and seek forgiveness for him from our respective places.”
Inquilab Mancha said that a Biman Bangladesh Airlines commercial flight will depart with Osman Hadi’s body at 3:30pm local time on Friday. The expected landing time in Dhaka is 6:05pm.
A janaza will be held in Bangladesh on Saturday after Zuhr prayers at Manik Mia Avenue.
