Khulna University (KU) will celebrate University Day on Tuesday, marking its 35th founding anniversary.
This year, the university completes 34 years of academic activities and steps into its 35th year. Established through the relentless efforts of the people of south-western Bangladesh, Khulna University has become a symbol of students’ dreams and aspirations, offering quality education, research, international collaboration, and humanistic values.
Under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Rezaul Karim, the administration has restored stability, modernised the administration, and promoted research. The university introduced teaching assistants across all disciplines, research grants for undergraduates, incentives for international journal publications, and industry-academia collaborations through its Collaborative Research Grant Programme, a first for public universities in Bangladesh.
The VC extended greetings to students, teachers, staff, alumni, guardians, and the people of Khulna, acknowledging their support as the foundation of the university’s success. He emphasized fostering innovation, creativity, responsibility, and ethical values in students to shape the future of Bangladesh.
