Journalist Anis Alamgir has been taken into custody by the Detective Branch (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police and questioned over specific issues, with legal action now underway as he failed to provide satisfactory answers during interrogation, forcing him to stay at the DB office overnight.
The information was confirmed late Sunday night by DMP Additional Commissioner (DB) Shafikul Islam.
He said Anis Alamgir could not respond to certain issues during questioning, prompting the initiation of legal proceedings. As the legal process is ongoing, he has been asked to remain at the DB office for the night.
Earlier, the journalist was taken into DB custody.
At the time, DB chief Shafikul Islam said Anis Alamgir had been brought to the DB office for questioning on several matters.
