Police have arrested a man following a call to the national emergency service 999 reporting the rape of a 10-year-old girl.
The call came from Uttar Madhab Kathi under Kachua police station in Bagerhat. Responding quickly, law enforcement reached the scene, rescued the child, and apprehended the accused, identified as Arman Sheikh
On Sunday afternoon, Anwar Sattar, inspector of the national emergency service 999 (media and public relations officer), stated that a caller had phoned on Saturday night seeking immediate legal assistance.
The 999 call taker, Constable Muhammad Robiul Hasan, received the call and informed Kachua police station to take swift legal action. The matter was monitored and coordinated by 999 dispatcher SI Abdul Bari.
Anwar Sattar further stated that after receiving the report, a team from Kachua police station reached the scene, rescued the child, and sent her to the OC’s office at Khulna Medical College Hospital for treatment and medical examination. A case was filed at Kachua police station.
The accused was sent to jail by the court.
