Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested the mastermind of an online fraud ring yesterday, who used to cheat people by dressing up as a woman in uniform and pretending to be a member of various defense forces.
He was arrested with Army and Navy uniforms and other goods including, fake NID cards, button- and smart mobiles, one bunch of girls’ wig and makeup set from village Abhiram (Nama Dola) under Pirgachha police station of Rangpur at 1:30 am on Wednesday.
The detainee is Md Nazmul Hasan alias Jim, 24, son of Md Sajjad Hossain alias Zahidul Islam of the same village, said a press release.
According to the release, the arrested man along with his associates, posing as army soldiers, proposed the plaintiff to purchase a share of 10 ‘Kathas’ of land in Rajshahi.
They also said that they had purchased two shares. One of the two shares belonged to a female soldier.
