The government has decided to give financial assistance to the families of those who have been killed and injured in an Air Force training aircraft crash at Milestone School and College in the city’s Uttara.
The decision was taken at the weekly meeting of the Council of Advisers on Thursday at the Chief Adviser’s Office (CAO) with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus in the chair.
“Family members of 36 people, who were killed in the Millstone tragedy, will get Tk20,00,000 each while the injured people will get Tk5,00,000 each for one time,” Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam said while he was briefing the media about the cabinet meeting at the Foreign Service Academy on Thursday afternoon.
Besides, the injured persons, who need long-term treatment, will get necessary treatment at the government hospitals at no cost, he said, adding that the injured persons will be given registration cards for medical care.
