The body of 73-year-old Sekandar Ali, missing for three days, was recovered from a pond near his home in Akandpara village, Bashikora, Adamdighi upazila, Bogra, on Monday afternoon. Inspector (Investigation) Shahidul Islam confirmed the recovery.

Sekandar Ali, son of the late Baitullah Banu, had a history of mental illness and had previously been treated at Pabna Mental Hospital. He went missing on 21 November, and despite searches, could not be located until local women spotted his body floating in the pond.

Police recovered the body and sent it to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College (SZMC) Hospital morgue. OC SM Hafizur Rahman said it is believed he accidentally fell into the pond. The exact cause of death will be determined after a post-mortem. An unnatural death case has been filed, with further action pending the report.
