A woman and her minor daughter were killed in a road crash at Dhunat upazila in Bogra district on Monday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Rebeka Khatun, 26, wife of Palash, a resident of Bathuabari village in the upazila, and her daughter Hujaifa Khatun, 4.
According to locals, the incident occurred at around 2 PM when a cement-laden truck hit a battery-run auto-rickshaw in Bathuabari Bridge link road near Dhunat-Sherpur regional road in the area, leaving auto-rickshaw passengers Rebeka and her daughter dead on the spot.
Confirming the incident, Dhunat Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Atiqul Islam said that police recovered the bodies and sent them to Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.
Police also seized the truck, but its driver and helper managed to flee the spot, added the OC.
