In celebration of the great Victory Day, the Bangladesh Navy opened its warship Banouja Kushiyara for public viewing at Payra Seaport in Patuakhali on Tuesday.
The ship, anchored at the service jetty of Payra Port, welcomed visitors from 2 pm until sunset. A large number of residents and tourists from various parts of the district visited the port to explore the naval vessel.
During the tour, visitors had the opportunity to learn about the warship’s modern equipment, technology, and operational activities. Many expressed excitement and fascination at seeing the warship up close and inspecting its facilities.
Lieutenant Commander Zahidul Islam, the commander of Banouja Kushiyara, said the initiative aims to strengthen the bond between the Bangladesh Navy and the general public.
“By opening the warship on Victory Day, we hope the new generation will learn about the Navy’s activities, feel inspired to serve the country, and develop an interest in joining the Navy,” he added.
The public viewing provided a unique opportunity for citizens to gain insight into the Navy’s role and operations, further fostering national pride on this historic day.
