National Citizens Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam has declared consulting as his profession, with an annual income of Tk16 lakh, according to his affidavit submitted to the Election Commission (EC) ahead of the 13th national parliamentary elections.

In the affidavit, Nahid Islam said he will contest from the Dhaka-11 constituency. He mentioned that he previously served as an adviser to the interim government and is currently working as a consultant. His educational qualification is graduation.

According to the affidavit, Nahid Islam’s father is Md Badrul Islam Zamir, his mother is Momtaz Nahar, and his wife is Fatimatuz Zohra. He currently resides in the Dakshin Banasree–Goran area under Dhaka South City Corporation, while his permanent address is in Bara Beraid of the Badda area under Dhaka North City Corporation.

The affidavit states that Nahid Islam does not own any house, flat, car, agricultural or non-agricultural land. He also declared that he has no firearms and no criminal cases against him. However, he has a bank loan of Tk3.5 lakh.

In terms of assets, Nahid Islam declared cash worth Tk19.5 lakh, while his wife has Tk2 lakh in cash. He has Tk385,363.57 in bank deposits. He declared jewellery worth Tk7.75 lakh in his own name and jewellery worth Tk10 lakh in his wife’s name. He also listed electronic equipment and furniture valued at Tk1.7 lakh.

In total, the NCP convener declared assets worth Tk32,16,122. He stated that his income in the previous year was Tk13,05,158, against which he paid Tk1,13,274 in income tax.

According to the revised election schedule, scrutiny of nomination papers will take place from December 30 to January 4, 2026. Appeals against returning officers’ decisions can be filed from January 5 to 9, and will be disposed of between January 10 and 18. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is January 20.

The final list of candidates, along with election symbols, will be published on January 21. Election campaigning will begin on January 22 and continue until 7:30am on February 10. Voting is scheduled to be held on February 12.
