Police recovered the hanging body of Sathi Barua, 37, a senior nurse at Rangamati General Hospital, from the nurses’ changing room on Friday afternoon. According to sources, she had been working at the hospital since December 15, 2016, and had long been suffering from physical illness and mental distress. A resident of Debashish Nagar’s Ward No. 8, Sathi took six days of sick leave and was admitted to the hospital early Friday as her health deteriorated. Later, she went to take rest in the nurses’ changing room near the emergency department, where she was later found dead. Police suspect that Sathi might have committed suicide, saying that the exact cause of death will be confirmed after the autopsy and further investigation.
