Professor Dr Md Sayedur Rahman, who recently resigned as special assistant to the chief adviser, has been reappointed to the post by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus.

The Cabinet Division issued a notification on Thursday confirming his reappointment.

According to the notification, Prof Dr Md Sayedur Rahman has been appointed special assistant to the chief adviser for the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, with the rank of state minister.

Following this appointment, he has been vested with full executive authority of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in accordance with the Rules of Business. As such, he will exercise administrative and policy-making powers of the ministry in the capacity of a state minister.

During his tenure as special assistant, he will be entitled to the same salary, allowances and other facilities as a state minister.

It may be recalled that Prof Dr Md Sayedur Rahman previously served as special assistant in the same ministry.
