The Bangladesh Wildlife Service Foundation has rescued a large python from a paddy field in Ichhabpur area on the outskirts of Sreemangal upazila in Moulvibazar.
Farmers spotted the snake on Friday morning while they were harvesting paddy in a field near Noagaon Fokirbari. Panicked by the sight, they immediately stopped working and informed the Bangladesh Wildlife Service Foundation about the snake.
Swapan Dev Sajal, director of the foundation, said the python was rescued unharmed and handed over to the local wildlife office.
Another python weighing about 20kg and measuring 12 feet in length was rescued from the same village around 1pm on 24 November. On the previous day, Sunday (23 November), the foundation rescued yet another python from a paddy field near Noagaon village.
Most recently, around 3pm on Thursday (27 November), workers clearing bushes in the same area became alarmed after spotting a snake on a wall. The foundation later rescued it and handed it over to the Forest Department.
