Students of Dhaka College and Ideal College have once again engaged in clashes within just one month of the peace agreement.

On Tuesday in the late morning, students of the two institutions clashed on the road behind LabAid Hospital in the capital.

Subsequently, both groups engaged in repeated chases and counter-chases. As of 1pm, when this report was prepared, tension continued between the two sides.

A large number of police have been deployed to bring the situation under control.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Ramna Division Deputy Commissioner Masud Alam was present at the scene. Speaking to journalists, he said: “The situation is under control. We urge everyone to remain calm.”

According to the latest information, students of Ideal College have taken position on Green Road, while students of Dhaka College are positioned at the Science Lab intersection.

Police are standing between the two groups, attempting to disperse them. Several students have reportedly been injured, though the exact number is yet to be confirmed.

Meanwhile, during the clash, students of Ideal College vandalized two student transport buses of Dhaka College named “Bijoy 71” and “Shongkhochil.”

Notably, on November 9, at the initiative of New Market police station, students of Dhaka College and Ideal College made a verbal “peace agreement” pledging not to engage in any further disputes or altercations.
