BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman arrived at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar to pay respects at the grave of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman.

His motorcade reached the site at 4:27pm on Friday.

Earlier, at 2:50pm, he left his Gulshan residence in a red bus bearing the slogan “Bangladesh First.” Party leaders and activists lined both sides of the road holding banners and waving to greet him, while he responded with hand gestures.

Senior BNP leaders, including Khairul Kabir Khokon, Imran Saleh Prince, Advocate Ahmed Azam Khan, and Ishraq Hossain, were already waiting for him at the Bailey Bridge gate behind the National Parliament.

Thousands of party leaders and activists gathered in the surrounding areas, displaying banners, festoons, and portraits of Tarique Rahman while chanting slogans. After his arrival, supporters surged forward to catch a glimpse of him.

After completing the pre-scheduled program, he is set to leave for the National Martyrs’ Memorial in Savar to pay tribute to the martyrs of the Liberation War.
