Two patients died of dengue while undergoing treatment at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) in the last 24 hours.

The deceased were identified as Md. Mithu (30) of Bagmara upazila in Rajshahi and Sabiha (5) of Naogaon.

Hospital sources said that Mithu was admitted to the hospital on Thursday morning. He had been suffering from fever for five days. He died around 4:30am on Friday while undergoing treatment at dengue ward.

On the other hand, Sabiha was admitted to the hospital on 6 November after being diagnosed with dengue. When her health condition deteriorated, she was shifted to the ICU. She died around 9 pm on Thursday.

The sources said that 41 dengue patients, including children, and 12 women, are currently receiving treatment at RMCH. In the last 24 hours, 26 more dengue patients were admitted to the hospital.

Shankar Kumar Biswas, spokesperson for RMCH, said, “Two dengue patients have died in the last 24 hours. After completing necessary procedures, the bodies were handed over to their families.”
