Two women have been arrested in Bogra while allegedly trafficking yaba tablets hidden inside ankle bracelets. A total of 2,400 yaba tablets were recovered from their possession.

They were detained on Thursday night during a search of a Rangpur-bound bus in the Noymail Jamalpur area of Shahjahanpur upazila. The Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) Bogra’s deputy director, Zillur Rahman, confirmed the matter in a press release on Friday afternoon.

The arrested women are identified as Dipa Akter, 30, wife of Razzak Sardar of Pagla Uttarpara village in Fakirhat upazila of Bagerhat, and her husband’s sister Nur Nahar, 40, wife of Kawsar Alam of Naihati village in Rupsa upazila of Khulna.

The two women were handed over to Shahjahanpur Police in Bogra. A case has been filed against them by DNC officials.
