Police recovered the hanging body of a youth from Amtali upazila of Barguna district on Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Md Limon, 21, a tenant at a house owned by Tahsin Molla in Khontakata area, adjacent to Baitul Aman Jame Mosque under Ward No. 3 of Amtali municipality. He was living with his mother.
According to media reports, Limon was alone in the home at night, as his mother had been away from home since morning.
When his mother returned home at around 11 PM, she found the room locked from inside and broke open the tin partition of an adjacent room with the help of neighbours and found Limon’s body hanging from a ceiling beam with a rope and screamed loudly.
Being informed, police recovered the body from the spot.
Confirming the incident, Amtali Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Zahangir Hossain said that the body has been sent to Barguna General Hospital morgue for an autopsy and an unnatural death case has been filed.
